8 Italian sausages (or your choice of flavour), cut in three
4 garlic cloves, chopped
3 potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
2 carrots, peeled and cut into chunks
540 mL (1 can) stewed tomatoes
60 mL (1/4 cup) tomato paste
375 mL (1 1/2 cups) CANTON™ Beef-Onion Broth
45 mL (3 Tbsp) flour
45 mL (3 Tbsp) butter
Preparation
Place sausages in a crockpot; add garlic, potatoes, carrots and stewed tomatoes.
In a bowl, whisk together tomato paste and broth, then mix into crockpot.
Cover and simmer on low for 6 hours.
In a bowl, blend together butter and flour until smooth; set aside.
After 6 hours, remove crockpot cover. With a spoon, lightly push apart sausages and vegetables to add butter-flour mixture to broth; with a whisk, blend in.
