French Onion Soup Pasta

Ingredients

  • 1 jar Canton Ready-to-serve Onion Soup
  • 180 mL (3/4 cup) water
  • 200 g short pasta of your choice: farfalle, fusilli, gemelli, conchiglie
    60 mL (1/4 cup) 15% cooking cream
  • 125 mL (1/2 cup) grated Cheddar cheese, or cheese of your choice
  • Fresh parsley, finely chopped

Preparation

  1. Into a large saucepan, pour Canton Onion Soup and water, then bring to a boil.
  2. Add your favourite pasta and cook until the liquid is almost completely absorbed, about 12 minutes, stirring regularly.
  3. Once the pasta is cooked, add the cream and stir until smooth.
  4. Add 60 mL (1/4 cup) grated cheese directly to the saucepan and continue cooking for about 2 minutes.
  5. Pour into bowls and garnish with remaining grated cheese and parsley.
  6. Enjoy!


VARIATION

Sauté your favourite mushrooms in a little olive oil and add to the saucepan at the same time as the grated cheese. Delicious!
