Pork roast with apples

Ingredients

  • 30 mL (2 Tbsp) honey
  • 45 mL (3 Tbsp) Dijon mustard
  • 15 mL (1 Tbsp) chopped fresh sage, or
  • 5 mL (1 tsp) dried sage, or
  • 2.5 mL (1/2 tsp) ground sage
  • 4 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1.5 kg (3 lbs) boneless pork shoulder roast
  • 3 to 4 large cooking apples (such as Cortland), peeled, seeded and cut into quarters
  • 45 mL (3 Tbsp) soy sauce
  • 75 mL (1/3 cup) Rougemont™ Apple Juice
  • 375 mL (1 1/2 cups) CANTON™ Beef-Onion Broth

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine half of honey, mustard, sage and half of garlic. Spread over roast and place meat in a crockpot.
  • Add remaining ingredients to crockpot; cook on low for 8 hours.
  • Remove cooked roast from crockpot. Remove netting around roast as well as any visible fat.
  • Cut roast into serving pieces and return to crockpot.

Mashed sweet potatoes and green vegetables.
